Description

Collab is an organization that aims to provide entrepreneurs with impactful, rigorous business support using a compassionate, fundamentally heart-centered approach so that they can build good businesses, create economic power, and shape their communities for themselves and their families. We prioritize serving people of color and women — particularly Black and Latinx entrepreneurs — who face persistent and significant barriers because of structural racism and sexism. Entrepreneurship is a way to create economic stability for families, and also for individuals to have agency and ownership in their lives and their communities. Our core belief is that entrepreneurship (which we define as the act of taking a risk on behalf of our community) should be accessible to every single person, no matter where they come from.

Introducing Groundwork: A Free Program for Aspiring Entrepreneurs Ready to Take the First Step

Starting a business can feel exciting, overwhelming, and deeply personal all at once. Many aspiring entrepreneurs have ideas, passions, or skills they want to turn into something bigger, but aren’t always sure where to begin.

That’s why reSET + Collab created Groundwork — a free, 5-week virtual program designed to help people explore entrepreneurship in a supportive, community-centered environment.

Groundwork is for individuals who are curious about entrepreneurship, testing a new idea, building confidence, or simply trying to better understand what it takes to start and sustain a business.

What Participants Will Learn

Throughout the program, participants will work through foundational topics that help turn ideas into action, including:

  • Clarifying their “why” and business vision

  • Understanding customers and community needs

  • Learning the basics of business models

  • Exploring sustainable and realistic next steps

  • Building confidence as an entrepreneur

Rather than focusing only on technical business skills, Groundwork also creates space for reflection, connection, and personal growth — recognizing that entrepreneurship is just as much about mindset and resilience as it is strategy.

Built for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs

Groundwork is intentionally designed to meet people where they are. Participants do not need to have a registered business, polished business plan, or prior entrepreneurial experience to join.

Whether someone is:

  • Exploring a side hustle

  • Thinking about launching a community-based business

  • Looking for direction after a career transition

  • Returning to a long-held passion or idea

  • Or simply curious about entrepreneurship

Groundwork provides a welcoming place to start.

Why We Created Groundwork

At reSET + Collab, we believe entrepreneurship should be accessible, human-centered, and rooted in community. Too often, aspiring entrepreneurs feel pressure to “have it all figured out” before they begin.

Groundwork was created to remove that barrier.

This program is about helping people take meaningful first steps, ask questions, connect with others, and build a stronger foundation before launching into larger programs or business growth opportunities.

Because every successful business starts with groundwork.
