I am the author of four young adult novels, including Crosses (1991), the first YA novel about self-injury. I publish internationally in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction, and have received awards from the DeGroot Foundation, The North American Review, New Millenium Sunshots, Writer's Digest, WOW: Women on Writing, The New York Public Library, and the American Library Association. My poem, "Go-Go Girl" is a 2026 Pushcart nominee. My memoir, Girls Girls Girls: One Woman's Experience as a Sex Worker in the 1990s will be published in September 2026.
