RED // ROOTS Show date is Wednesday, February 25th, 2026. Come celebrate the color red in this exhibition. Red is a grounding color for meditation and a symbol with many meanings across cultures and personal experience. This show explores those varied interpretations, telling a collective story through submitted works. All artwork must be ready to hang and either prominently feature the color red or express a clear narrative connected to it.
All applicants must fill out the submission form so as to stay organized.
To be considered for this exhibition, submitted work must be primarily red or intentionally centered on the color RED. Red may reflect heat, fire, urgency, passion, danger, love, vitality, or the Muladhara (root chakra) in the Sanskrit chakra system, where it is associated with survival, grounding, and primal life forces. What does RED mean to you? Your work should make that meaning visible. We recognize that RED carries different cultural, political, and spiritual associations depending on one’s background. Artists are encouraged to engage those meanings thoughtfully and intentionally. All submitted work must be professionally prepared for display. Artwork must be wired and ready to hang.
