Natalie Averill is a visual artist working in a variety of mediums, most often on paper with both wet and dry media in southeastern Connecticut. Her latest work explores the rhythmic satisfaction of symmetry and the stimulating novelty of asymmetry, as well as the beauty and substance in using line distancing as a theme rather than an element. She seeks to present the detail and disorder of her own cognitive challenges in daily life as a neurologically disabled artist along with the solidarity and satisfaction of recognition in a pareidolic manner. While she currently practices art in a private manner, she is beginning her transition into the public and professional environment.

Artist Statement

I feel that my work can be powerful as well as universal with non-subjective style or that it can represent elements of culture with definition, sometimes at the same time. I am confident in my ability as an artist to bring a neurodivergent perspective that can capture the attention of others in visual art forms while adding their own personal perspective as a member of an artistic community.
