About

Sometimes all is takes is a cheap guitar, some neighborhood friends, and a song to spark a lifelong relationship with music. This was certainly the case with pop-rock singer-songwriter Mark Place, whose humble beginnings took him on a journey only many could dream of. Mark Place has been managed and produced by the Beatles publisher Dick James, worked with Bob Marley’s manager and producer, Danny Simms, and recorded under the direction of Bob Dylan producer and Columbia Records A&R Executive Don DeVito, as a recording artist for Columbia Records. This has led to an impressive discography of albums: ‘Vignettes’, ‘Raddolcire’, ‘The Swan”, ’The Havens,’ ‘The Sonalysts Sessions,’ ‘Third One From the Sun’, and ‘Pre-Columbia Art’. Mark Place tells stories of autobiographical influences, infused with universal messaging and his personal observations of the world. The result is a stylistic tapestry of emotions, colors, and lyrical narratives weaved together to unite listeners and showcase Place’s skills as a storyteller. Place released a music video of his song “Eyes of Need” that has won five international music video awards including The Stockholm Sweden Film Festival, The Los Angeles Film & Documentary Awards. The Los Angeles Movie & Music Video Awards, The Argentina World Film Festival, and most recently The Alpine International Film Festival. https://youtu.be/JSAEFRnt-us?si=NHwFXINhRuMe7_FW The Argentina World Film Festival: "Congratulations on your Best Music Video Award, we wish you continued success in spreading hope and support through your inspiring project.” https://festivalslwf.wordpress.com/winners-8-slwf/ The Los Angeles Film & Documentary Awards: “We are truly honored to have "Eyes of Need" as part of the Los Angeles Film and Documentary Awards. Your work carries an impactful message, and we are delighted to help amplify it to a broader audience.” Helping Mark Place bring these stories to life on both record and on stage are longtime bandmates, bassist James Lawson, drummer Al Bartozzi, and keyboardists August Marin and Mario DiNoto.
