My work is a representation of the memories that make up my sense of self. Soft illustrative versions of carefully chosen moments. Photographs themselves have an innate archival quality, whereas memories exist outside of time and have no beginning or end. Transcribing them through a brush allows me to showcase my altered perception and recollection of the moment. There is nothing and everything special about these moments at the same time- that is the entire point. A single, common, everyday act that most would overlook, I see as art. It might seem mundane but one day you'll miss it. I use small wooden panels to resemble printed photographs, exhibiting them as a photo album of my life. I paint loosely, boarding between illustration and realism, displaying my memories as if they were playing in your dream. Gouache, watercolor, and colored pencil allow for a delicate and intimate look into each world.
