Rashell is an art education major currently studying at Southern Connecticut State University. She creates artwork that mixes different styles, from realistic paintings to looser and more abstract pieces. Her work inspired a lot of nature, everyday surroundings, and her own thoughts and emotions.

Artist Statement

My artwork is based on how I feel and how I see things around me. I don’t stick to just one style-I like to switch between realistic and more abstract work depending my idea. Nature is a big inspiration for me, especially flowers, trees, and outdoor spaces. I also use color a lot to set the mood in my work. I tend to use strong colors like greens, blues, and yellows to make the piece feel calm but also emotional at the same time. I want my work to feel personal but also something other people can connect to in their own way.
