Description

Seeking a versatile singer with a wide vocal range who can embody the voice and presence of three different father characters in the first live performance by Tau Lewis. This experimental opera re-imagines the ancient Sumerian epic The Descent of Inanna (c. 1900-1600 BCE), a mythical narrative of self-discovery chronicling the goddess Inanna's journey into the underworld. The ideal performer can shift fluidly between different vocal qualities, balancing strong technical ability with expressive storytelling. Comfort with both singing and spoken delivery is essential, as is a willingness to experiment with character and tone. Open to all genders, ages (18 +) and backgrounds. Prior experience in live performance is a plus.
